Branson Lakes

Branson Area Lakes

While Branson is world-famous for its many activities, shows, and attractions – it also offers unparalleled natural beauty.  Situated near three beautiful lakes, you can boat, swim, fish, and enjoy the many activities that these amazing lakes offer.

Bull Shoals

Bull Shoals LakeOne of the most mild and temperate waters in the Ozarks, Bull Shoals Lake offers clean, clear waters for you to enjoy.  The least-trafficked of the three lakes in the area, you will find that Bull Shoals offer a retreat from the crowds of Table Rock while still being able to enjoy water sports – unlike Taneycomo.

The lake itself is set against the beautiful Ozark Mountains bordering the Northwest portion of Arkansas and the Southwest section of Missouri.  You will find that there are hundreds of miles of shoreline and coves which make for excellent swimming, fishing, boating, and water sport activities.  Additionally, there are nearly 20 developed parks and 60,000 acres of public land on the shores of the lake, complete with camping, marinas, swimming areas, and boat launches.

Lake Taneycomo

Lake TaneycomoRunning through the heart of Branson is the world-famous trout fishing body of water – Lake Taneycomo.  Unique in its conception, Taneycomo was created in 1913 when the damming of the White River at the Powersite Dam formed what would become Lake Taneycomo.  Up until 1958, the waters of the lake were actually warm and provided for swimming and water activities.  With the completion of Table Rock Dam, however (and the subsequent feeding of the lake with cold water from Table Rock) the lake became much cooler in temperature.  This provided an ideal breeding ground for the world-famous trout fishing that the lake now enjoys.

Table Rock Lake

Table Rock LakeCreated and built by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Table Rock Lake has become the area’s most popular lake for visitors and locals alike.  The water temperatures make for excellent fishing, boating, and swimming during the summer months with marinas and activities located among the shorelines.  Over 100 resorts and lodging properties border the lake which can make for a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation.

Table Rock itself winds through the Ozark Mountains meandering all the way from Branson, Missouri to Eureka Springs, Arkansas – giving visitors a chance to see some of the beautiful scenery as they navigate the warm waters.
