About the Attraction
Towering high over the Ozark Mountains and visible for miles around, the Inspiration Tower at the Shepherd of the Hills is one of Branson’s most recognizable landmarks.
A massive 230′ tall structure that was built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Harold Bell Wright’s very first visit to the area – it is quite remarkable to view or experience! Weighing in at over 3 million pounds, with a construction cost of over $1.5 million, containing over 45 tons of steel, 5 miles of rebar that weighs 34.5 tons, and a foundation that took 43 concrete trucks to fill – the tower can withstand a constant wind speed of 172 mph and gusts up to 224 mph!
Once are transported (via 2 glass elevators) to the top of the tower, you can gaze out over the scenic beauty of Branson and the Ozarks through over 4,400 square feet of glass – so much that it would cover over 1/3 of a football field! With a panoramic viewing deck that offers you a 360-degree view of the area, on clear days you will experience visibility of over 90 miles!
One of the instantly recognizable attractions in the area, the Inspiration Tower in Branson is truly a sight to behold!

We’ve been up in the tower a few times when visiting Shepard of the Hills and it’s really neat being able to look out over the town. You can see for miles once you’re at the top and it feels extremely safe.
